Sassy Sandra Wins! (12/15/03)

Sandra Diaz-Twine, the 29-year-old office assistant from Ft. Lewis, WA, captured the million-dollar prize. After being take to the final 2 by Lillian, Sandra pleaded to the Jury that she went along with whatever alliance would have her without asking questions. Sandra claimed she never got in anyone's way, staying quietly in the background, and that she deserved to be the Sole Survivor. The Jury agreed in a 6 to 1 decision, making Sandra the Sole Survivor and the recipient of the one million dollar prize.

For the first time Al's pool crowns a two time winner. Congratulations to Elaine and to all that played again this season in Al's Survivor Pool. Survivor All-Stars (season 8) has finished filming and will air it's first Episode after the Super Bowl. As soon as the All-Star Survivors are announced I'll get up Al's Survivor Pool All-Star site. For now, feel free to jump in on the All-Star Forum.

Burton Buster! (12/12/03)

Not once, but twice!

Burton Roberts, the 31-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco, CA. was voted out in a 3-2 vote. Upon seeing his torch extinguished for a second time, Burton remarked, "I wish Jon the best, and I hope he wins. Lill, I hope you can live with yourself. We had an alliance; you broke it." WHAT? Hypocrisy at it's best. If Burton hadn't been blind sided and the vote had gone as he planned, Lill would of been standing there. Nicole gets to loose twice. Sue/Darr, Elaine, Micheal, and Janyce are all gonna be in the money.

A Late Epiphany! (12/05/03)

Christa Hastie, the 24-year-old computer programmer from Los Angeles, CA, was voted out in a four-to-two decision. As predicted Christa and Sandra placed themselves in harms way. Sandras light has been dimly glowing with suspicions but Christas has been out all along. She did have an epiphany right there at the end. To little to late I'm afraid. Sorry Ray, ya can't say ya didn't see it coming.

Ta, Ta, Tee! (11/28/03)

Tijuana Bradley, the 27-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative from St. Louis, MI, was sent home (well to the jury actually) in a five to two vote. Predicted by some, this was a little bit of a surprise to me. Apparently CBS did a good job of hiding T's bossing ways which were never really apparent in the show but are very apparent in the survivors comments during their voting this week. Sorry Jeff, I didn't even see it coming

Boneham boned! (11/21/03)

Rupert Boneham, the 39-year-old troubled teens mentor from Indianapolis, Indiana, was ousted 5-2-1 vote. Although it's being reported that Rupert felt safe at tribal council I don't by it. He knew it was coming and his only fault was his unwillingness to believe it. At this point in the game the only way a proclaimed leader can stay in the game is to win that individual immunity. Ironically, Sandra, mistakenly took that chance away from him.

Check out my spoilers and show recaps on the survivor 7 message board.
The White RynO (11/14/03)

Ryan Opray, the 31-year-old electrician from Los Gatos, CA, was ousted in a majority eight to one decision and becomes the first memeber of the jury. RyanO, try as he might, was destine to go this episode. Ryan asks Burton how far he thinks Burton will be able to get in the game. Burton doesn't know. Ryan reminds Burton that "the four of them" (meaning Rupert, Christa, Sandra, and Jon) are close buddies and will probably boot Burton as soon as it gets down to that. This would of been key for not only keeping himself in the game but Burton as well. Sorry Tricia.

It's a Savage Game (11/07/03)

Andrew Savage, the 40-year-old attorney from Chicago, Il.was voted out of the newly formed Balboa tribe in a six-to-four decision. Andrew carried Morgan throughout the entire first 20 days. Although if we look at this they had no shelter and no food, just what was he carrying? His physical ability along with his obvious leadership of Morgan made him and obvious target of Drake members after the merge. His back stabbing of Lill made him and obvious target of hers. Sorry Adam, you had to know he wouldn't make it far. Congratulations to Nicole and Janyce, you're back in the game!

Check out my spoilers and show recaps on the survivor 7 message board.
Shawn Gone, Osten Quits! (10/31/03)

Shawn Cohen, the 28-year-old advertising sales executive from New York, NY, was booted out of the Drake tribe in a four-to-one decision. Shawn just wasn't smart enough to play this game. His strength and reluctance to work put him in a vulnerable position. His only hope was to convince the others he should stay instead of Jon. The alliance of Rupert, Sandra, and Christa gave him that chance. I thought he did well in pleading his case and I think the impending merge did him in. As I stated in the spoiler Jon would be a good one to go to the merge with as his irritating personality will make him an early target. Sorry Sue R. Somehow I doubt he'll be back

Osten Taylor, the 27-year-old equity trade manager from Boston, MA, quit the game. For the first time in the history of the game, a castaway chose "suicide" by Tribal Council. Osten said his body gave out, but Tijuana and Andrew correctly pointed out it was his mind. What a whimp! You called it Dawn and just in time. Better luck next time he definitely won't be back!

On the Next Survivor! (10/30/03)
"What the... ?" (PART 1)

  • AMAZING TWIST: Next week the past comes back to haunt the Survivors as the castaways who’ve walked the plank return!
  • It's the first of a two-part episode full of surprises and revelations!
  • The Survivors thought they were ready for anything. But, when the twist to beat all twists takes them by surprise, they can do little but shudder as they learn the curse of SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS.
  • A castaway makes a monumental decision.
Check out my spoiler on the survivor 7 message board.
Dunn done! (10/25/03)

Trish Dunn, the 42-year-old sales executive from Annapolis, Maryland, was voted out of the Drake tribe in a 4-2 vote. Trish made the mistake of coming out from under the radar too soon and not really knowing yet who she could trust and who she couldn't. An attempt to oust Rupert backfired and turned the tides for Shawn. Shawn, who Elaine predicted to go, was an obvious choice to go but Trish's backstabing has put him in a position of power for the time being. Sorry Rick, Up until the very moment she raised her head into the line of fire I thought she was going to final 4 (ala Tina from Survivor Australia)

Michelle Seals Own Fate (10/17/03)

Michelle Tesauro, the 22-year-old student from Pittstown, NJ, was voted out of the tribe in a six to one decision. Michelle's main down fall was her early alliance with Burton and Shawn. With Burton gone and Shawn doing damage control she found herself alone and in trouble. To seal her own fate, in the minds of the other tribe members, she didn't follow through with the plan for the immunity challenge. Sorry Joan, but I did have her picked to be gone in the first 4.

Check out my spoilers and show recaps on the survivor 7 message board.
On the Next Survivor! (10/16/03)
"Everyones Hero"

  • A rising tide threatens to wash away one tribe’s shelter.
  • While looting the losing tribe’s camp after the Reward Challenge, one castaway bonds with the opposing tribe.
  • Though acting out of loyalty to the tribe, one Survivor fears being seen as disloyal
  • One castaway’s failure to follow through with the tribe’s Immunity Challenge strategy leads to a very close, tense, gut-wrenching finish.
  • (TV-Guide) Tempers flare in one tribe when the men decide to build a shower that requires everyone to bathe out in the open.
Check out my spoiler on the survivor 7 message board.
Burton For Certain! (10/10/03)

Burton Roberts, the 31-year-old marketing executive from San Francisco, CA was voted out of the Drake tribe with five out of seven votes. Burton hasn't learned from past Surivors that it’s far better to wait for people to come calling to you then to telegraph your strategy by seeking to put a group together. Even after having been tossed out Burton failed to realize this as his mistake saying in his final words...
"There's no doubt in my mind that any Challenge, physical or mental, when it came to individual Immunity, I would have won hands-down. No doubt in my mind. The tribe realized that, and they did what they had to do."
Try again after you've watched the show some more Burton! Sorry Nicole, better luck next time

On the Next Survivor! (10/09/03)
"Pick a Castaway ... Any Castaway"

  • Andrew and Ryan go in search of a good fishing spot, but instead they find themselves in a dangerous situation: lost in the jungle without water.
  • One tribe recovers a buried treasure. But will it have been worth the search?
  • The Immunity Challenge shocks the tribes with an unexpected reward.
  • Lubricated by whiskey, one Survivor creates a spectacle at a Tribal Council that is not to be missed.

Scout Out!(10/03/03)

Lillian Morris, the 51-year-old scout troop leader from Cincinnati, Ohio, was voted out of the tribe in a five-to-one vote. Lillian didn't go because of her lack of effort, she went because of social dynamics. I'm not sure she could of done anything about it, although loosing the last hook and siding with Ryan S. were questionable at best. In her closing words she said "It does seem to be a game of a lot of deceit and a lot of lying and I'm not really good at that." Well DUH!! These people must forget they watched this show. Maybe dehydration? I'm sure Lill loves this final picture that CBS posted of her.

Check out my spoilers and show recaps on the survivor 7 message board.
On the Next Survivor! (10/02/03)
  • Two Survivors decide not to join their tribe on a search for buried treasure, raising suspicions about what they are doing with their alone time.
  • Trying to make a decision for the tribe, Jon insults Sandra, and a screaming match erupts.
  • One Survivor loses an item that is crucial to the tribe's survival, inciting the tribe's fury.
  • A painfully physical Immunity Challenge leaves the fate of two Survivors in the hands (literally) of their fellow tribe members.

Ryan S. Gets The Cold Shoulder (9/26/03)

Ryan Shoulders, the 23-year-old produce clerk from Clarksville, TN becomes the second person voted out of Survivor in a 5-2 vote. Despite his thoughts that he was giving 110% Ryan was seen by the rest of the tribe as the weakest link. We know what happenes to the weakest link... "Goodbye" Sorry Libbie but at least your first attempt at the pool didn't cost you anything.

Again, my predictions about the show were right on the money. Even guessing that it was Osten who would whine and want to go home. Mark Burnett did throw us a curve ball though. In CBS's own promo for this episode they said "It's a desperate battle of mind and body for Immunitiy, where every last second will decide the winner in a photo finish you must see to believe." It didn't happen and the challenges weren't even close. During Tribal council Jeff Probst even commented that if Drake hadn't won the reward challenge Morgan would still be out there. Perhaps they got their promos mixed up and that referenced Episode 1, where it was a very close finish.

Another good episode. I can't wait till next Thursday! Check out my spoilers and show recaps on the survivor 7 message board.
On the Next Survivor! (9/25/03)
  • When one tribe wins the first Reward Challenge, they learn of a new twist: one member may visit the losing tribe's island to pillage and loot one item from their supplies!
  • A tribe is stunned when one Survivor confesses a desire to quit the game.
  • Rupert, Drake tribe's "Blackbeard," goes into a rage after learning that a tribemate has lost something crucial to Morgan's survival, but is determined to recover it at all costs.
  • It's a desperate battle of mind and body for Immunitiy, where every last second will decide the winner in a photo finish you must see to believe.

Nicole Gets An Early Vacation (9/19/03)

After months of anticipation Survivor 7 finally kicked off and proved to be all it promised to be. Speculation about the survivors, tribe names, and original opening all proved to be accurate. Many characters are already presenting themselves and I don't hesitate to say this will be a great season for Survivor.

Nicole Delma, the 24-year-old massage therapist from Hermosa Beach, California, gets the dubious distinction of being the first to walk the plank and was voted out of the Morgan tribe in a seven-to-one vote. Nicole's tell-it-like-it-is attitude and overt attempts to create alliances backfired, thus seeding distrust among her tribemates. Upon leaving Tribal Council, Nicole gave her Final Words: "Even with a million dollars at stake, I still had to say what I thought, when I thought it. And that's exactly what did me in." Sorry Mary. Last season your survivor was voted out second, this season first. I think it's a new record for Al's survivor pool.

My predictions about the show were right on the money. Early previews and interviews laid a lot of this season out without spoiling the show. Burnett is the master of marketing. Examples include previews that show Drake winning the immunity, yet it didn't look like they would in the final seconds ultimately only winning by a few feet. Leaks that said Nicole would be booted first but the twist that gets her booted not happening till the closing scenes.

All in all just a fantastic start to this seasons survivor. I can't wait till next Thursday! Check out my spoilers and show recaps on the survivor 7 message board.
Survivors have been picked!
For her 4th season Data has matched up survivors with pool players. Good luck to everyone!

In survivor news - previews have shown that survivors are told to dress for a pre-survivor cocktail party and once out on the pirate ship they are made to walk the plank and swin in to their tribes beach. No supplies are given other then the clothes on their backs.

Other spoilers and twists....

Survivor Fever is reporting that each survivor was given a certain amount of money, and had to go into a village or town and purchase items that they think they might need. Some of the contestants purchased good survival items - not necessarily just food, but things that will help them find food once they are on the island. Others didn't do so good - thinking more short term, and only buying food.

"There is an "earth shattering, mind numbing" twist at the halfway point" : Mark Burnett. (Source: TV Guide)

In addition to the marooning, Burnett said there's another unexpected turn that will shake up the game. (Source: Variety)

The big lie: Burnett instructs the players to dress for a dinner party, then makes them jump overboard with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They then have to swim a half mile to an island village where each tribe is given 100 balboa (about $100) to buy supplies. Drake buys chickens, beans and rice, and four jugs of wine, but no bug repellent, leading to the tribe being ate up with mosquitoes by the next morning. (Source: TV Guide)

There will be a lot of male nudity because no one buys any beach clothing at the island village and they have to make due with what they have. (Source: TV Guide)
Let the Games Begin!
